The majority of the rods I build are true custom fly rods. You pick the line weight and number of segments, and describe the action you are seeking in your rod, and tell me how you intend to fish it, on what type of water and under what conditions.
You select the variety of wood in the spacers and the type of hardware for the reel seat; the color of silk thread for the wraps, and the style of wraps; the style of cork grip; the finish on the rod's nickel silver hardware; and, optionally, engraving. From understated to gold-plated, each custom rod I build is a unique and fine fishing tool.
